The Time Traveler's Wife
Audrey Niffenegger
I loved this book and I hated it. But you should read it! Of course,
you must suspend belief and consider the possibility that time travel is
possible. Once done, it is an incredible story, fascinating, well
written, and thought provoking on so many levels.
It was definitely not the sweet time travel romance I thought it would
be. It was a tragic, funny, sad, joyful, heartbreaking, thought
provoking, disturbing mix that had my emotions churning and my mind
working to sort it all out. I haven't read many books that evoked that
response.
While Henry is involuntarily yanked around in time, Clare lives her life
waiting for him, never knowing when he'll appear or disappear. The
characters are flawed, desperate, and yet normal. I was at times
disgusted with them and other times aching for them. They alternate in
the telling of their strange love story, so it jumps around in time
right along with Henry. I found it fascinating more than confusing, but
I did need to go back and re-read a few parts.you'll see what I mean.
One caution: There were crude sex scenes and language that might be
offensive to some readers.
You should definitely read this one! You can buy this book, and other
books at the RM Bookstore
